Baptism,
Marriage and Funerals
Please contact Fr. Michael in the first instance if
you would like to discuss or arrange a baptism, marriage or funeral.
Baptism:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Mt 28:19-20).
Baptism is the sacrament that signifies being reborn in
Christ.
Marriage:
St. Paul said:
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the Church. . . .
This is a great mystery, and I mean in reference to Christ and the
Church" (Eph 5:25,
32).
Marriage is the sacrament where a man
and a woman establish an intimate communion of life and love -
a life-long partnership. The sacramental rite includes the
giving of consent, exchange of vows and blessing of rings.
Funerals:
Funerals
are a liturgical rite of the Church and not a sacrament. Prayers
are offered for the deceased's eternal salvation.
